My cuzzin hates me?! what do i do?!?

ok so me 5 yr old cuzzin jordan is tellin me she hates me, is disrespecting my authority, and down right pissing me off. like today i walked her to the park down the street and SHE dcided we were gunna leave and i didnt feel like starting a fight with her so i was like ok then... and i saw her already halfway across the parking lot on her way back to the football feild(where her dad [my uncle] is/where we came from) and she was right behind a car that was in reverse and i was like JORDAN GET OVER HERE! then she ran away i was like ugh. so i yelled again; JORDAN GET OVER HERE NOW! and she ran faster. so of course i had to run after her. and whene i caught up to her she started kicking me and spitting on me and saying I HATE YOU I WANT MY MOMMY AHHH! and screaming so i had to hold her arm the rest of the way back while she bit me and slapped me. i just dont get it? she used to adore me untill about two weeks ago. she is so freaking getting on my nerves.

is this a typical thing for a 5 yr old? i just dont know. also is there some other way i should have andled the park thing? thank you!

ignore the I HATE YOU. Lot's of kids do it as a way to get what they want. You did the right thing. I would tell the mum what she did . She is 5 and biting and hitting needs punishment. She is a little brat

if she/he hates you give him/her a toy or a gift

You have to understand that she is a child still, have a talk with you uncle about this first and maybe he can advised you on what to do.... being that it is his child. Also take her to get icecream and ask her what her problem is, she may be a child but some kids are very smart and know exactly what they are doing. Tell her that you are in charge and that when you say something it is for her own good. Let her know that she could have gotten hurt by her not listening to you and that, that situation will not happen again. Be firm but suttle at the same time. We girls are hard headed sometimes..... Its comes with the territory. Sorry:)
