My dog attacked a bird, the bird can't fly anymore and he's stuck in the dog run becuase he can't get over the fence. What should we do about him? It's been in there basically all day. Is he hungry? I gave him some bread. Should I feed him anything? Isn't he thirsty? What should I do about him?

  1. Take him to the vet and they will probably tell you to keep him in a dog crate with lots of water for a week or two or they will take him and look after him. But if you do keep in for a week make sure your dog cant get him even if he is in a crate.

  2. Call the DNR and tell them you have an injured bird stuck in your backyard.  They'll know what to do.

  3. Take him to the vets ASAP.

    He needs specialist treatment.

    GO!! Save the bird!

  4. call the humane society or animal control. look in the phone book.

  5. theres nothing you can do im sorry - he might have a dissease so be careful being around him. have your parents put on gloves or something and move him off somewhere if you really wanna help but thats all you can do... no vet will work on a crow and i doubt your parents will wanna pay the bill

  6. take him to a vet or animal rescue place

  7. call the animal rescue people - in the UK we call it the royal society for the protection birds, but I'm not sure what that is in America.  They'll be online or in the yellow pages.

  8. the headline says my dad attacked a bird. i was like wtf? lol// and id take him straight to the vet/ humaine society.! asap!

  9. Well you need to be EXTREMELY careful with him. I raise wild orphaned birds, and i know alot about caring for birds. Put the bird in a box with a towel on the bottom of the box, and put a heating pad under the box so the bird stays warm. Get a small cup of water or something and dip the birds beak in the water and see if he will drink. Dont try to force feed him, but maybe give him some crubmled up chips, bread, or crackers. Put a towel over the top of the box also so its nice and dark in the box so he can rest. Call the local humane socioety and they will reffer you to a local bird rehab place and someone will come and take the bird and heal it. You shouldnt try to take care of the bird by yourself.

  10. Try to locate the nearest animal rescue, and take it there. Even if it's after hours, they'll usually have a drop box. An animal's bite can be poisonous to a bird, so it may die if you don't.

Get something to put it in, like a box, and drive it down there. Don't feed it though! The vets usually say that's not a good idea.

Edit: Also, in my experience, the rescues do not charge. You can usually make a donation if you want to though.

  11. stuff it and hang it the wall...thats how we roll here in alabama

  12. Feeding him bread is a good idea, especially as he has been there almost all day... Meaning he hasn't been able to eat for ages.... Maybe you could put a small dish down by him with some water in it? That way he will be able to drink if he is thirsty. You should call an animal rescue centre near you, they should be able to collect the bird and look after it :)
