My dad cut off his thumb?

my dad was stupid and when he was using the table saw on sunday cut off his thumb. and my sister had to find the piece in the garage and now every time she goes in there or we talk about it she starts crying what can i do for her

Wow...whats with the anger? Its not like your dad is the first guy to lose a finger to a table saw. It happens. She'll get over it in time. Just let it go and stop talking about it if it upsets her.

Tell her that Dad will be ok. Unfortunately, several people loose fingers to equipment like that. He may be sore for a few days or even weeks, but he will get over it and be able to do most things he could before. And maybe he will get a little smarter from this and watch what he's doing more closely.

Other than reassuring her that he will be ok, there isn't much you can do. He is the one who needs to apologize for scaring both of you and assure y'all that he will be more cautious in the future.

Just try not to bring it up any more than necessary and try not to force her to go into the garage before she's ready.
