My dad doesnt allow Limewire..so..?

Question

My dad hates me using limewire..as he says it downloads viruses to the computer. but everybody uses it. and there is nothing wrong with the computer...

so i want it back since he deleted it.

Only problem is, he has an administritive account with a password, and i dont, so i cant download it :|

any ideas?? ways to get it?? xx

My sister uses blubster try that! If everything like that is blocked try watch him type in the password or guess/find it!

but you can buy the music off itunes for only 99 cents a song

or you can try morpheus.com

its just like limewire

and you can try ares.com

just like limewire.

although it might take a litle while for a song to downloud...not sure have not used it in ages..

but those are your best bet to get your music

beemp3.com has quite a few, although not as many as limewire, that's a bummer and my adad does the same, though he thinks we'll all get 'arrested' if we use it <eye roll> so we do it on the lap top imstead :P though yes, beemp3 is good.

Unless you want to unload a heap of trouble including your dad removing your account all together off the computer so you couldn't even use it I just suggest you forget about it.

It's his computer he can do what he likes with it. If you don't like that then deal with it. If you were mine and you tried a caper like that you would soon get a short shrift from me and your account taken off.

Limewire does give your viruses thats the trick you download it for free it puts a virus then you buy a new one...

Restart your computer then press F8 or which ever button it says on the black screen.

Click something like "start windows on safe mode with network"

(CAN'T REMEBER WHAT IT SAYS))

Then it should come up with a screen and if your in luck click administrator without a paaword download limewire on there!

If I was your dad and I removed Limewire (which is full of malware btw) and then found out you hacked into my account and put it back, you'd never use the computer unsupervised ever, ever again.

Just deal with it, or go to HMV and rob music from there instead (joke).

Limewire does tend to give you virsus ect. I would respect your dad and use another program. Try using itunes. Although you have to buy all of your music it is totaly worth it. No virsus and its easy! Or if your just listening to music then use www.playlist.com its really easy too!! Napster is also a music website, i would not download any music from Napster or Limewire or any othre music giving website because it does tend to give you virsus and mess up your computer. You are at a high risk. Try talking to him about other music websites! Goood luck!!

Try and respect your father's wishes, he is quite right and just because 'everyone' uses it doesn't mean to say you should go against your father's wishes. Why not instead just get a bit more knowledgeable about viruses and spyware and advise him on what programs to instal so that if he were to allow you in the future to use it, the computer would not be in any danger.

Instead of looking for a way to undermine your Dad's decision perhaps you should ask Dad for your own computer.

um when you're an adult and supporting yourself you can buy your own pc and internet connection and do whatever you want

You can get past the administrative password in windows by starting the PC in safe mode (hold F8 as the computer boots is the default method). Then use the safe mode administrater account that has no password to either create yourself an admin account, or modify the account you have to have admin account privledges. Then restart the PC sign into your account, install limewire, restart pc, sign in with safe mode privledges, boot yourself back to restricted user or get rid of the temporary admin account, and restart the pc. He will never be the wiser if you install the program for your account only, and hide the files and folders related to limewire and its shared folder.

He is right though, people load lots of the files you might download with limewire full of viruses, even files that work right may still do harm to your pc if you don't know how to handle them.

If you want to get rid of viruses for good reinstall windows and partition it off on its own section away from the rest of the hard drive. There are no viruses I know of that can jump from one partition to another, and if you get one you can reformat just the windows side without it taking too long.
