  1. It's not going to survive if it fell out, just throw it away.

  2. It sounds like a robin's egg.  Please put it back in the nest.  It's illegal to touch them, and illegal to take them home.

You are not taking good care of it.  Only the parents can do that.

All native wild birds in the US and Canada are protected by federal law.  No one is permitted to touch, harm or take any bird, egg, nest or even a feather from any native wild bird, unless they have a wildlife license that allows them to do so.

No one is allowed to hatch eggs, or keep native wild birds as pets.

  3. I'd throw it outside or throw it in the trash. Outside is better, because then maybe something can eat it and it won't be wasted. Different eggs need to be incubated at different temperatures, and if you somehow miraculously got it to hatch it would die when you were unable to stay awake long enough to feed it every 2 or 3 hours. Don't feel bad, that's why birds lay several eggs, to get their odds of survival up.

If you want, you could blow out the middle and then preserve the shell for a keepsake. Anyway, have fun!

  4. It sounds like a Robbins egg. It was probably pushed from the nest. Parent birds will do that if there's something wrong with it. I'd suggest putting it back where you found it as it's illegal to touch them.

  5. Keeping it warm as you have is needed for it's survival.

You should cover the egg for warmth and don't turn the egg, but gently carry it and place it back in the nest where you found it. The parents will return and sit on the egg.

It is nearly imposable to keep a wild birds egg alive.

Besides that we can't teach a wild bird to forage and learn what they need for survial.
