He also has one from 03. He is in jail right now and was calling me asking for 300 bucks for his bond...I said no. Hes in jail for the night and sees the judge at 9am, she decides if he stays in jail or gets to come home. We live in IL, what is going to happen to him?

  1. Hopefully bail is denied! Any of those DUI's could have easily resulted in the deaths of an innocent family. And I am POSITIVE those weren't the only times he ever drove drunk.

Good for you for not bailing him out. It is time for him to grow up! Sorry he's your dad, and I hope you learn from his mistakes (because it is obvious he doesn't).

  2. 3 strikes may get him 1 to 3 years in the state prison system. That will give him some time to beat his alcohol addiction and keep him from killing some Innocent people.

  3. All of the answers seem to assume your father was actually drunk due to the BAC reading on the breathalyzer.  It is entirely possible that he is not biologically drunk but MADD and a public who feel the police are to be supported in all their activities.  The day will come when seat belts will be penitentary time and a smoky tail pipe a secondary crime.  No law is to small in liberal America.  Relese the murders and pedophiles to make room for the traffic code violoators.  Next year, you may have car pollution felons.  Let Ms. Nancy and the congress get work for the people.  Oh, yeah.

  4. he is more than likely fixing to do some serious time . sounds to me like he needs help . he is lucky he hasnt hurt himself or someone else . drinking and driving are serious offenses . nothing to play with sounds like he needs to do a little time to possible wake him up before he kills someone

  5. He needs to help himself.  There is nothing you can do except pray and encourage him to get help.  Don't enable him.  Everyone has problems but he needs to learn how to deal with life without turning to alcohol.  He has no right to endanger others or put any burden on you.  Good Luck.

  6. If there is any justice he will be in prison for many, many years.  He is a selfish, dangerous person who refuses to consider the consequences of his actions.  He is a threat to you and everyone you care about.  Father or not he needs to be kept in a cage like any other dangerous human or animal.

  7. You did the right thing denying him Bail money! He needs to dry out, and get his brains back in his head before he kills someone.  I hate to say this to you, but he very likely will get jail time. Don't be throwing your money away just so he can get back on the road!! They will probably take his license away from him, that's if he still has one! My son-in-law was just like your Dad, his mother bailed him out against my daughter's wishes, and left her without a car, cos he wrecked it as soon as he got out! Don't worry about what's going to happen to him either, he deserves all he gets! Good luck and God Bless.
