My dad has a defective h3 hummer clutch does anyone else have that problem

my dads owned dozens of 4x4s and he did everything and more with those and never took a clutch out but he went up 1 hill and took the h3 clutch out

  1. Yes that is a very common problem.  Those h3's have a renig on those.


  2. Many of GM's clutch assemblies are now made in places like Germany. For whatever reason quality control isn't what it should be on the production of these clutches. GM TAC knows it. So does PQC. They usually stand behind their clutches as long as your under your factory clutch warranty. Good Luck - I'd replace that "clucked" with a LUK Rep Set if I was paying for the job out of my own pocket. Get that flywheel replaced to, if it's less than perfect. Don't listen to those who say you can resurface it. You can but more often than not too much is taken off leaving your clutch assembly two C/H's to far away from the throw out bearing.  

  3. I didn't know that the H-3 could be had with a stick. I thought they were all automatics.
