  1. get a job that pays you well, save save all you can for the down payment

  2. Get a job and save to get the car then offer your dad the amount his insurance increases. Also save some money for repairs and tires so you can keep it running. Check the oil every week and if you can't afford gas and oil just buy the oil. My dad always said a car will run longer without gas than it will without oil.

  3. Well the increased insurance would be a given to any person. As for purchasing a car...you could find people selling cars locally..look through ads. This would probably be your best route..even though it wont be a brand new car it will be cheaper and they don't do credit check like dealers. Be sure to compare used car prices (and kelly's blue book) and to get like a carfax on it..the history on the car. Hope this helps..there is hope!

  4. buy a really cheep car, your first car you'll probably total anyway. And also don't get collision, collision increases your insurance drastically. Also taking drivers training makes your insurance lower too.
