Ask your mom. Is she sick? If yes, see if she needs anything. If she's not sick but really can't answer, then ask your dad and leave a note to your mom. Let her know where you're going.

How old are you?  If you are under 18 then yes you have to ask a parent either your mom or your dad.  Who cares if your mom is in bed if she is there wake her up and ask her.  If that is not a good idea and you know where your dad went then by all means ask him.  Whatever you do if you are underage you need to ask.
