  1. wow lucky you

anyways yeah you should be worried about global warming because the idiotic people on our earth are causing it to happen way quicker than it should happen

  2. Hey,.... don´t frighten me.

I have just bought one too.

That´s it, stop construction boys, I want the Palace and Jetty mounted on hydraulic rams!

  3. The oceans should rise 4 - 5 meters by next Tuesday.  It's going to happen because global warming is real..

  4. Think you'll be alright on the ocean rising in your lifetime.....but unfortunately it's the Tsunami that's going to be the problem !!!

  5. i hope he hasnt bought the island next to mine, cos i dont like noisy neighbors!

oh by the way the name of my island is h**l.

you know i'm the neighbour from h**l,lol, lol.

  6. Get him to buy you a dictionary as well.

  7. Having just finished my doctorate in enviromental studies at cambridge I hate to say it but he really ought to holiday there this year at the very latest.

If your getting abit para about the situation look at the website www.yourvebeenhad.org

  8. probably not in your lifetime

  9. You might want to monitor this web site for sea level changes:

    http://www.worldclimatereport.com/index....

It looks like it would take hundreds of years to gain 2-3 meters increase in sea levels? They have tracked about a 6" rise every century for about 8000 years.

I wish you 'Good Luck' = living or dying under Islamic Law!

  10. Learn arabic.

You sure cannot write english,me son.

  11. I have no idea but why are you bothered

  12. You would think dad's money would be better spent on a tutor.  Well, according to the alarmist bible, the IPCC report on climate change, you can expect a .59 meter rise in sea level by 2099. I think your dad is safe for at least another 100 years.

  13. Ooh it will be very quick - sounds like a poor investment to me.  Tell you what, I'm such a selfless person, I'll take the island and therefore the problem off his hands for a nominal fee.  Tell him to contact me to negotiate.

  14. Hence the term...(island hopping.)

  15. Well, two islands in India's Sundarban’s island group have  already been engulfed by rising ocean levels.

Nakheel, which is the developer of The Palm islands and The World, says it followed the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) estimation of a rise of 30cm to 50cm by 2100. If it’s more than (some estimates believe it will be)  this then Dubai’s islands will disappear. Given developers mainly want short term returns I’d have a look around and see what you think of its elevation above sea level. But you should be safe for a while yet, certainly into the second part of the century - if Nakheel have raised the islands that is.

Of more immediate concern is what happens if a major storm occurs offshore, storm pressure pushes seawater ahead of it in s surge which the winds then pile onto the shore, hence the high seas and flooding that accompanies cyclones.

I'd be concerned about the supply of fresh water  in Dubai, as it grows it’ll be interesting to see how these are maintained.

  16. sounds like he was tricked into buying as the outer defenses are only 1m high - when breeched the islands will wash away

  17. Actually Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought one of these islands and plan on turning it into an environmentally sustainable development.

Problem is that by the time visitors arrive at this paradise in their lear jets or first class commercial flights, they will already be responsible for considerable carbon emissions.

I'm not sure what their trying to achieve.

(edit) Rick - don't let the Muslims put you off - this place is way more liberal than somewhere like Saudi.  I've lived in the US and I live in Dubai and I much prefer to live in Dubai. No tax, pork and alcohol permitted, low crime, great opportunities, low cost of living, beautiful climate (except for 3 months of the year when it gets hot enough to fry an egg on the footpath) - all things considered it doesn't get much better.

  18. I want to be your best friend so you can buy me lots of stuff, like a doughut factory and I'll take Ibiza in these islands.

  19. I would get a couple of weeks in quick.
