My dad is getting us a porsche?

Question

I go to a, should I say "very privledged(sp?)" school. Where a kids first car is a Mustang GT or a 2008/09 Hummer and such. Then we do have those kids with the other cute little cars or whatever.

But so, my brother is getting his drivers l. next month and I get my permit (we were born exactly one year apart. both sep 13) anyways, and I mean is that a good car?

Its a vintage one. Its a 1973 one that my dad (he sponsers a race car driver) is buying from the guy he sponsers or whatever.

Its like a green color from what he tells me.

He wont tell me what it looks like but he says Ill like it. Should I be worried?

Do you think the car will look bad? Im scared I wont fit in. I know its a porsche but still, every car has its limits.

I wanted him to get me a volvo. But I still have another year until I get MY car. This is really simply my brothers. But I have to ride in it.

Im happy but a little scared.

Should I be worried? Does anyone know what this car may look like?

A 1973 Porsche could be a little difficult for a new driver.  The car is rear engined and has a significant amount of weight beyond the rear wheels.  It requires a technique for driving in turns which is opposite of most people reactions.  In turns, the car requires a constant gas pedal.  If you release the gas pedal, you run the risk of breaking the rear end loose and spinning out.  The newer Porsches have Porsche Stability Management system that prevent the car from spinning out in most instances but the older cars did not have this feature.

A 1973 is a classic 911.  It is the last year before they changed the bumpers.  It should be a nice car.

OMG Yes you should be worried. You should be shaking in your expensive shoes with worry that the other kids will make fun of you. OMG my first car was a junker! You go to a privileged school..yet they don't teach spelling there? Count your blessing and be happy with whatever your parents give you. Even if you don't like it. So what? You could always walk to school.. or better yet.. ride the short bus!

How "privileged" could this school be when their students can't even spell?  Or is it one of these "special needs" schools?  Your dad is getting you a Porsche 914, and yes, you will look stupid in it.  Obviously, your dad really don't care much about you or your brother.  Cars in the 70's era have horrible safety features.
