My dad has this bodily disorder where he has to have certain amounts of protein everyday (not including dairy/ peanut-butter). Because of this, my mom puts really meaty dishes on the table for dinner, and then gets mad, because I don't eat them! I'm a vegetarian because I don't like the taste of meat! I don't know what to do : I tried shoving it in a napkin, I tried secretly passing it to my sister..... any advice or suggestions on this?

  1. You could actually sit down and have a conversation with your mom.  Explain to her as best you can that your are unable to stomach the taste of meat.

The problem, as you will soon learn when you are a mommy, is it takes a tremendous amount of energy to create an environment where the family can sit down and eat dinner.  And for someone to completely disregard that is very frustrating.

  2. Your father needs a balance of protein, not high protein.  If he snacks at couple hour intervals on peanuts and cheese he can eat a normal meal that does not have to be all protein.  Mostly he has to watch the sweets and keep them in balance with the proteins.  He should never eat sweets on an empty stomach either.  Beans are protein too.  My Mom was hypoglycemic and it is hereditary.

  3. Please be advised, there is a lot of people that don't understand your ways. I eat meat but i try to be there for my friends that don't. Just tell them that you need all pure sugars like oranges, bannas, apples and so on. Those fruits also have protiens to make all the vitimins you need. On your dads part make sure he gets proper medical are and talk to his doc and make sure what he can eat to keep healthy. GOOD LUCK

  4. TROLL ALERT!!!!

Have you turned vegetarian in the last 2 hours?? this was your answer to a question about your favourite food!!!!

I'd say spaghetti and meatballs. it has protein, it has mild carbs, it's easy on the stomach, and it's delicious! That's by popular vote for world-wide foods though. if your going all American, try grilled hamburgers and hotdogs!

That must make a real mess when you are passing it to your sister!
