My dad signed me up for parent taught drivers ed, him being the instructor.

I live in Texas, FYI.

Anyway, the 6 months on my permit has expired, and i am 16.

I want to get my liscence, but my dad is s******g me over by saying i'm not ready and all this BS. They make me drive everywhere and i am actually a pretty good driver.

My dad, being the driving instructor and my parent, is supposed to sign off on some papers. but he is refusing.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get my liscence without my dad/instructor/JERK?

thanks

  1. run away from home, lie about your age join the Army, then take a vacation in Iraq, maybe you'll learn some respect there and perhaps learn how to drive a tank

  2. yeah just tell ur dad that u dont think its a good idea cuz u really don't feel comfortable with him being ur instructor. tell him not 2 take it personally but it is the best thing 2 do i hope it works good luck

  3. oh c'mon, I'm not really a jerk, I just haven't had time..............

  4. There's nothing you can do till youre 18 or maybe 17.5 in texas. Just be really nice to your dad and prove that youre a responsible driver.

Or you can tell your mom to help you.

  5. He may be less of a jerk than you know.

Dads seem (to get) smarter the older we become.

He's likelyjust trying to protect you.

You're a pretty good driver in whose opinion?

Yours counts for less than what others think.

Dudes your age are in too many crashes.

I would vote for your dad's judgment on your driving skills.

Even if you don't have wheels for a while longer, your life

    will not end.

Get a bike, walk, jog, even selectively hitch.

You'll survive, build muscle mass while you wait.

    Chill!

  6. nothing really, if you go to a driving school, you still need your parents to sign off to give you permission so that they will issue you your license. you could wait untill you are 18, then you could just walk in and get it. and contrary to what you think, sorry to burst your bubble but you are probably not a good driver because you are 16. you dont have experience. you might be good enough to get your license but then again, who doesnt get their license.

  7. Fones is right.

Did you consider that your Dad may not think you are yet qualified to drive on your own.

If your dad thinks your not ready then you probably are not. No parent wants to have to visit their child in the hospital or a funeral home after an auto accident.

"They" are making you drive everywhere so that you can get as much driving experience as possible. They are actually helping you in this aspect.

You can always renew your learners permit for another 6 months if you are still learning.

Just keep up your learning and your Dad will let you know what you still need to work on and when he thinks your ready for your license.

    Good Luck

  8. GET THE PAPER ... AND A PAPER WITH HIS SIGNATURE.. TAKE A PENCIL AND CHARCOAL THE BACK THEN PLACE IT ON THE DRV ED DOC.. AND GO OVER HIS SIGNATURE SLOWLY ... IT WILL GHOST IT ON THE DOC.. THE GO OVER IT.. HAHAH
