My dad is teaching me how to drive and i was looking through my manual when i saw a drivers log?

i havent been keeping one, am i supposed to? im supposed to have 40 hrs of driving experience by the time i go to get my liscence.

  1. YES and have your dad fill it out each time you drive


  2. i don't think that anyone asks for the log but it would not hurt to go back and keep track of all thetimes and dates just in case you should get asked to produce it.

  3. They don't check that so don't worry, its just a suggestion so you will feel comfortable enough when you take your road test.

  4. In my state they require u have 30 hours of driving and logged..all my dad did was just fill in random dates and hours i drove till it added up to 30.. they don't really inforce it.

  5. You don't have to show it to the DMV, but your parent has to sign to certify that you got in that many hours.  I think it's a good idea to keep it, you can estimate the hours you have driven already.

  6. Yes it would be great if you kept one and had it witnessed by your dad or someone who was with you each time you completed an hour of driving.  You could bring it with you when you go get your license and maybe impress them.

  7. Depends on your state.  If your manual has one, I'd say that you need to keep one.  Just record the dates and times and have your dad sign beside each.
