Last week I played in a 3 red ball snooker knock out and won. there are 3 red balls and all the colours. and its 1£ to play 15 of us played and the winner gets all the money. so I won all the money. my dad saw me win and he said to the snooker captin we dont want your money and he said its yours so my dad kept it. and when I won the team cheered me on and said well done. my dad walked off and on the way home he said your to good for that game its time you give someone else a chance. and also sed you only played it to gamble and my mum said dont listen to your dad and she said well done. Why can't my dad be happy for me?

  1. because if you were better than everyone else in the tournament it wasn't a fair contest and you have hustled people out of their money.

"You're too good for that game" sounds like praise to me. But he didn't like that you were playong for money against players who didn't have much chance of beating you.

"it's time you give someone else a chance" makes me think maybe you've won a couple of times already. If you keep going like that it can lead to a bad tempered end.

  2. You're British, right? Cool. Dads usually aren't like that. My dad is French and I've noticed that usually all European fathers are stricter. Your dad probably is proud of you, but maybe he's disciplinary. I think you should tell him, "Dad, you didn't seem happy for me when I won." And maybe there's a reason behind all this.

  3. the reason is your dad never learned /is incapable to know the benefits of praise and to let you know your endeverors and hard work are appriciated//.. understanding.. dont think much of the small things in life, let it go as a bad dream, press the restart buttom   jesse

  4. You mother is right.

There were 14 others in the match. If they didn't think they had a chance to win they wouldn't have signed up.

If everyone thought like your father you would have been the only player.

Don't worry about it. Do your own thing. Besides, now that you're the 'king-of-the-hill', everyone will be out gunning for you. It will keep you sharp and ready for the next tournament.

    Keep shooting and good luck.
