My dad made the internet cutt off at 12:00 everynight. How do i make it stop?

do i need to go to the router settings and change anything?

i have a linkseys router but i cant find it on my computer

Don't be sneaky.  That only proves you can't be trusted and they'll find out sooner or later.  Then the restrictions could get tougher - you could lose the Internet altogether.

Talk to your dad.  Sit him down and explain how you feel.  Tell him the reasons why the Internet should stay on past midnight and suggest a time you think it should be turned off.  Perhaps you could work out a compromise where you could do certain chores to earn extra time, or give it a trial period with your new time suggestion.

If it doesn't work, don't be discouraged.  At least you were honest and showed respect and maturity by calmly explaining your position on the issue.  This will go a long way later on when it comes to privaleges, rewards, and who knows, maybe he'll lift the restriction out of the blue one day.

The router will be addressible via internet explorer using a local ip address to communicate.

It is usually on the router somewhere and starts with

192.163.x.x  but they usually require a password.

To access the router after locating the ip address open up internet explorer and type in http://192.163.x.x where x.x equals the last to segments of the IP address.

The internal settings I will not go into because after this point it becomes a password then Graphical User Interface.

If your dad is using this as a method of controlling your access to the internet then you might best not go through with the interruption of his wishes as it will be instantly verifiable that it has been done, when it was done, and who done it.

on the back of the router theres a small hole with a reset button use a pen and hold it in till the lights go off

Do you mean 12 p.m or 12 a.m?  Do you actually use your computer at 12 a.m?  I don't see the problem with that.  In fact, my dad cuts of the Internet almost everyday just to make me do the chores.

(But if you really want it back, you should check the wires connecting everything together in your computer. Your dad might have removed something.  That's what my dad did! Good Luck!)

u got parental control on your computer.. the only way to disable it is to login and turn it off in the program.. but your dad set the password

That should do it if it has anything to do with the router. Also, remember to put a password on the router again after resetting.
