okay, so i've kinda lost track of what rent/board money i'm supposed to pay because my wages have changed and my parents have been away for a while. now they're back and my dad hasn't told me how much he wants or when he wants it. i don't know whether to give it every week or every month or what? he tells me that i have to work it out on my own and he never gives me a certain day to give it on or amount to give him. shouldn't the owner always ask for the rent on set days rather than let the lodger work out when he wants it. i've totally lost track of what i owe him but he doesn't say. he just sits in silcene and then we'll have an argument and he'll say 'you're living in my house for free!' and i'll be like 'i don't know what you want!!!' and then he just leaves!!! help!

  1. He's your father. He's not just going to ask you for it he also probably wants you to take initiative.

  2. Rent is always due on the first of the month--- you need to talk with your dad about how much does he want you to pay- keep a book of what you pay out each month- then you always have something to go by- like I paid you this month on this date in cash- or whatever.

  3. Make up a rent agreement that you both sign. Have on that agreement the amount required for room and board and the date each month this

amount is due. You each sign the agreement and keep a copy. No problem. Now it is all written down.

  4. So, sit down and make up a payment schedule that will work for you. Choose a day (or two days, if you like) of the month when you will make the payment, and the amount you will pay. Be fair.

Then, take the numbers to your Dad and ask him if what you have set up is okay? He will say yes or no, and then you'll know when to play.

Now, quit being a deadbeat and then trying to make it your Dad's fault.  He tries to cut you some slack and you take advantage. You wouldn't dare do this to anyone else.

  5. Ok you pay rent at the end of each month.

Ask your dad how much the rent was to make sure,

and write it down and post it on your wall

tell them about your wage change and they will fix it up for you.
