I cannot describe my anger when i heard him say this. all my life, i felt a sense of anger in most of the things he say, but to me he has always been a responsible dad. he never seemed to mind that me and my sister were females and he does not own a son. until today. he said " how many high tech mechanicals are females? how many high tech inventers, engineers, lawyers, are females?" i said that it is because society does not give the oppurnity to females to do all this, all though we have equal potential as men. i have lost all respect for my father. I hate people who are sexest and racist the most and that turns out to be my father. my father is the most sexest person i know. and also most racist. do you agree with him? what should i do? can you scientifically prove your opinion? thanks so much. :'[

  1. um no. shove the tape of william golding explaining why he chose a bunch of boys for his book. that will deffinately show that most men are smart and not sexist.(author of lord of the flies) into his face. he thinks women are so much smarter. we are ,i think. my teacher's always giving reasons. we have more... genes lol. idk a lot of reasons. you can't scientifically prove it but its proven we are made differently. we do have our faults but so do men. wtf. i HATE people who say things like that. i just slap them in the face

  2. No, I don't agree.....my wife can run circles around me....

Of course, we can't judge all women by her nor all men

by me.....but I just don't buy the deal that women are dumber

genetically...too many of them are doctors and lawyers and

such....Is your dad, by any chance one, of these?

He most likley is only having fun with you...he knows better,

....and I would lay odds he doesn't want to lose your respect

you had for him.  Love him...he's dad!

  3. Why I think he's the handsomest, coolest, strongest guy in the world. Wait a minute, if I'm dumb then I don't know anything and if I think that then it can't possibly be trure, can it? Tell him I'll show him my IQ if he'll show me his.

  4. your father has brought you up to be all you can be, but he himself has not been, and when we get older, we go more back to what we learnt as children, I have seen this in my own parents too.

don't take it personally, you yourself won't pass this on to your own children.

  5. Women are intelligent in areas where men are not and vice versa. Intelligence is to do with the person, not gender. You have smart men and smart women. You also have dumb men and dumb women. Gender doesn't play a part in intelligence.

  6. Look at the facts.  They speak for themselves.  Unless you can up with hard data to refute what your father says, you have no argument.

If you think you have a case, bring out some data, e.g. SAT scores, number of women receiving university degrees, number of women MENSA members.

If you accuse him of racism, then bring out similar data that clearly shows that he is wrong.  There is no point in arguing based on emotion and/or intuition.

  7. Nah I dont think women are dumber than men.  If anything I think men and women tend to specialise in different areas, as they think differently.  For instance you will see more men in more 'techie' type jobs like engineering, IT, etc.  In other jobs where empathy is more required, you will find women, like teaching, nursing, things like that.

Dont get me wrong I'm not saying women cant do those jobs of men, I just think that its just less common for it to happen.  Maybe due to discrimination, or the whole stereotyped image of the workplace I don't know.

  8. At least most women don't think with what's between their legs.

To this I would like to add that the things he says about how many women are this and that might have some validity but only because it is true that there are fewer women in certain fields and this because historically we have been discouraged from even getting an education, much less an education in what was thought of as a man's domain.

For instance, when I was in high school, girls were required to take home economics.  This generally came at the expense of some other course, usually science since girls were only required to take one year of science, whereas boys were required to have at least two .  If we persisted, we had to put up with a certain amount of harassment.  It was not illegal back then.

And if we applied to a college for any course of study which required more than a year or two, we had to explain in an interview how we planned to manage things when we got married and had children.  It was taken for granted that most women would get married, have children, and quit work; and, the school found it hard to justify educating a female under those circumstances.  If we said that we intended to always work and maintain a career, we were looked upon as "impractical females."

This is probably the first generation of young girls who can expect to have the same advantages as their brothers.  I expect things to change in the fields he is talking about...

  9. i disagree with him

im a girl and am smarter than most people in my school

the smartest person in the world is a woman

women do what they want, and under equal employment, we have a chance in this world ruled by men

  10. He is probably pulling your leg. He may also be tired of hearing you say what you believe. Why don't you ask his opinion about something before you tell him your opinion, and then think about his answer.

I was young once too, and felt the same way you feel now, but I am now 65 and in the other position. But, I have to confess that I do not hear his tone of voice or feel his suppressed thoughts and reactions to things, so you may be picking up some of the energy that is spinning around in his mind and feeling and reacting to that energy.

    Good question!

  11. Sounds like he has some anger issues of his own to deal with. Just pray for him! People who are racist and sexist have their own issues of inadequacies, and this makes them feel elevated in some way.

And know that men and women are different. God made us different. But we are equally intelligent. We have different gifts and talents. And, yes, different opportunities.

Also, learn early that you can't argue with people who are closed-minded. Just know what you believe, and take control of your own emotions. Don't give him your power by getting upset!

  12. Anyone who says something like that needs a kick in the groin. Sexism sucks.

    :(
