My damage hair need help going to cry?

I have african american hair ive been pressing it and finally brought a nice straightener but have not use any in 2 1/2 month some of my hair is curly and some is straight should i cut the straight off assuming its split ends because all of my bangs are straight but no split end and are healthy I'm going to trim my hair or cut it because its uneven because i usually where ponytails so i need to have a ponytail. my hair come down to the end of my neck and horbally uneven on the sides how to cut my sides need advice too there very thing i think i should just cut it all off ( the sides that is) please help.

  1. Can you possibly get someone else, non-professional, to give you a trim? Just the damaged ends though. They will see your head better and trying to cut your own hair may result in errors/frustration. After that, get some V05 Hot Oil from the beauty supply store and apply that before you shampoo. This will help with some of the damage. Start deep conditioning twice a month (A simple one would be 1 egg and 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil on your head for one hour, no heat) and if you relax, don't wait 2.5 months to do touch-ups. This should minimize damage.  


  2. You should NEVER try to cut your hair on your own hat can damage it more
