My darling wife ran a whole artichoke heart through the garbage disposal. How can we fix this?

if it's stuck, try to get everything out you can. then look on the bottom of the garbage disposal, you should see a hex shaped hole underneath in the center. find the right size allen wrench and put it in there and try to free it up. go back and forth until you can turn it freely. it may take a little doing but if you get it turning it'll run. there also should be a reset switch there as well.

OK.  Its not so bad.  Put LOTS of ice in it and spin away.  Some detergent too, but not too much.  Lots of water.

1.You disassemble the garbage disposal and get the 'string' out of the grinder.

2. You make a big deal out of it so you can 'guilt' the "Darling Wife" for a week or so.
