ok my dashund is about 5 months old and he seems to be getting smarter everyday like the other day he figure out how to get onour kitchen table but the bad thing is he keeps getting people food will this hurt him too bad because i love him a lot but it seems like he loves people food a lot lol but plz answer ohh and also he wont pee or p**p on the pad we gave him how can i fix this?

if he eats a little bit of people food it wont hurt him. you just dont want him to get too used to it or thats all he will want to eat. also don't let him eat chocolate or pork, those foods are bad for dogs.

as far as the dog not going on the pad..you have to teach them too. if they go on the floor stick his nose in it tell him no..then show him the pad. it takes some time for them to learn.

what ever you do don't let him eat grapes they are just as bad as choco.

Don't let your dachshund have human food. If you allow this your doxie can become overweight and this can cause major problems with his back and he could possibly need major surgery in the future. You have to train him to use the pad. There is a spray at the pet store that you can buy that you spray on the pad to get the dog to pee there, but I can't guarantee that it will work. Some time won't use the pad, if not, then just housebreak him by taking him outside. The best of luck.

First of all dont use a pad, just let them go outside.  Second of all you have to teach them not to go on the counters, if you see them scold them and hit them, or at least something.  I did this with my dog and it worked.

no hes fine, dogs dont potty train themself you have to help him.
