My date and i are believing god for a job are we to sit and wait for god or we should make effort about it.?

is a christian suppose to wait for god to give job or after believing still try to do something about the situation.

Im not sure if I am understanding you correctly, but are you saying that the reason for believing in God is for a job?  Or you believe in God and your job is to wait for Him?  If it is the first one then you may wait an eternity and still not find God.  Ones intentions has to do a lot with what is revealed before the eyes.  God know everyones heart (omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence) and provides accordingly.  If you truly are seeking God, He will lead you to your destination.

There is nothing to wait for.  God has given us His instruction, it is up to us to decide to follow them.  Make it your ambition to dedicate yourself to God, even though you may not have the power to do so now.  Pray for Him to show you the Way and to be his servant not for material blessings, then He will manifest His Will through you.  It takes prayer, dedication and devotion.

The trick, I think, is to trust that God will look out for you, while at the same time looking for signs that God gives you.  When an opportunity comes along, take it.

Remember the joke about the old woman on the roof of her house in the middle of a flood:

During a flood, a devout old woman had made her way to the roof of her house.  A man came by in a canoe and offered to help her, but the woman said "No, God will rescue me."  The flood got worse.  Later, a man in a helicopter flew above and offered to help her, but she politely refused, saying "No, God will rescue me".

The flood got worse, and she drowned.  Up in heaven, she asked God, "Why didn't you rescue me"?

God's answer was "What do you mean?  I sent you a canoe and a helicopter!"

Go make the effort - God will help protect, provide, etc. but we still have to put forth effort.
