which leads to her snoring, snorting, and sounding very nasal all of the time. My question is, aside from surgery, is there anything that I can do to help her breath better? Thank you for your answers.

  1. my daughter's were also. we ended up having them out, but not the tonsils. the doctor said it was not good for her to not breathe well when she slept. afterwards, they were sent to pathology because they ended up being much bigger than the doctors thought...came back benign. It even changed how loud she talked, since she heard differently after.

  2. Tonsils and adenoids are lymph glands which filter harmful bacteria from the blood stream. Our first line of defense. Herbs can be used to faciltate elimination from the site of infection for excretion from the body.

Tinctures: Mix 20ml Echinacea root; 10ml Poke root; 1 ml Thuja; 5 drops Capsicum. Dose for children: 15 to 30 drops, in water, three x daily.

Topical Lotion: 1 part liquid extract Thuja; 2 parts Aloe Vera gel. Apply to affected area on a swab.

Gargle: Equal parts tinctures Myrrh & Goldenseal. Put 10-15 drops in glass of water; use freely. (Tastes awful.)

At bedtime, take 2 Garlic capsules or tablets to help prevent infection.

Note: lots of kids are low on zinc. Might want to supplement with 15 to 30 mg for a month or two, especially if she is prone to warts (another sign of deficiency). Don't take long term (except as part of a multi-vitamin) as it can throw off absorbtion of other minerals.
