Yesterday I posted a question saying I was feeling kind of down about my daughters grad, and that she had been at the same school since JK, for 10 years. Some very nasty person made comments about my daughter must be dumb and rude comments about me etc. I responded under details telling him to do the math JK to 8 = 10 and called him a moron. I got a violation of guideline notice. Do youo think that's right?

  1. Technically, yes.

It's a violation of Y/A guidelines to call someone names, even if they "started it."

I do sympathize with you, however.

Next time, yell at the monitor.

We'll all agree with you. :)

    Congrats on your daughter's graduation.

    Be well.

  2. The overlords of YA work in mysterious ways. I was on your other question and the only thing I might say about your reaction was that I did not know what JK was at first either and actually the exchange between you helped me figure out it was essentially a prekindergarten year + kindergarten + 1-8.

I think a better demeanor if you are going to post on YA is to have a zen-like attitude of taking the high road and being kind to dumb animals.

:-)  Be well and have a great summer.

  3. No not right at all.  I was given a violation in another section when I asked a questions and someone called ME an idiot. Sometimes I wonder if the powers that be actually LOOK at the violation, or just hand them out.

  4. no, you were right to call him that

  5. No, don't feel bad. Morons have a tendency to ruin things. You weren't in the wrong.

I don't understand though why your question got deleted and I've seen wayyyy worse things said in here that didn't get a notice at all. :(

  6. People will say what they want about other people on the Internet because they know there are no consequences and they know they can annoy someone by doing so.

Just ignore the things they say they do it only to get that exact response out of you. If you give them no response they will move on and realize you don;t want to stoop to their level.

No it is not fair you got that notice being he was the one to go their first.

Just ignore it all. It's an annoyance i know how you feel, but theirs nothing you can do, and your not in trouble with the law or anything so its nothing to worry about.

  7. no, you can contact yahoo answers service via the e-mail they send you and tell them what really happened.

  8. No, he obviously clicked the "Report This" button to get you in trouble. He is a moron.

  9. Nope, not right.  He started it and what is wrong with telling the truth? He sounds like a moron.  If there is a way to tell your side, please do.
