Question:

My daughter's legs get wedged between the crib bars?

My daughter is turning 19 months old and is still sleeping in a crib. She constantly gets her legs wedged between the crib bars and cries and its getting annoying having to wake up so many times during the night to pull her legs out. My mom says she never had this problem with me when I was a baby, as the crib bars were made further apart back then. My daughter isn't ready for a toddler bed yet as I know she would just get out of it and wander around. Is anyone else having this problem with their crib?

  1. I think they sell crib guards. I would google it. Gl!

  2. My 11 month old son also gets his legs stuck in between and the bars and he screams because he twists them in and I have to untwist his leg to get it out and that hurts him. =(  I just put his bumper back up and so far he hasnt gotten them stuck anymore.

  3. They probably sell a certain crib for things like this, but if you don't want to pay for it, then you could just try to start her on the toddler bed.  Just three nights a week to start off, of just start from one night a week and progress, you would just have to lock the door(s) on her.  If it is too early, perhaps she is just trying to gte attention, because to me, it seems a bit hard to continuously do something unpleasant(i.e. get her leg stuck) over and over again.

  4. You don't need another crib, you need a bumper. If the child is going above the crib bumper you already have (I hope you do have one) then buy a second one and string it on top of the other to provide more coverage.

  5. You could put a bumper around the edges so that she can't get her legs through  :)

  6. try a growbag or other baby sleeping bag.

they are baggy at the bottom, so they can still kick their legs a bit, but fitted at the top, so no chance of heads getting tangled.

  7. Yes they sell bumper guards that go all around your crib..you tie them to all 4 ends of the crib and it works wonders:)  Good Luck!
