My daughter appears to have some sort of disorder in which she has difficulty processing thoughts. In order to do so, she finds it neccessary to pace, to listen to music, or to stare at an item that is within very close proximity to her face.

In addition, she displays great trouble keeping her concentration when being spoken to, and in school, and will often fade out and begin daydreaming.

Does this point towards any obvious disorder?

  1. Attention Deficit Disorder, perhaps?

  2. You'd have to include her age for any kind of prognosis. Could be obsessive/compulsive.

  3. I think you should take her to your doctor/specialist for an assessment as it seems it is interfering with her learning and functioning.  It could be ADD, hearing difficulties, LD or even mild Autism ... but it is too tough to diagnose without meeting or knowing much more about her. Good luck. The sooner the better ... and if it nothing more than a minor problem then no harm done.

  4. It could be a form of autism or maybe a learning disability like dyslexia. People with dyslexia sometimes have a hard time processing information. Or it could be ADD or ADHD. Go to a professional and see what they say.

    Good luck and God Bless!
