My daughter went to neighbor house with her game boy advance, and lost it in her house...I don't no if someone stole it or what...I approached my neighbor on the situation, and she just had the "I don't care, cause its not my child game" attitude...at the moment, I owe her some money....should I give her money back, or should I look at it as being even for not finding my daughter's game?

  1. You have no idea whether or not your daughter may have just lost it. It might not even be in her house, so how do you expect her to find it. You have no proof that it was stolen. You owe her money, whether or not your daughter has her game. Swallow your pride and grow up!

  2. Why in the world did you let her take it to someone's house? Its not the neigthbor's fault its lost. You owe her money, so pay her money back. I would remind her weekly that its lost, so she will (hopefully) return it when its found. Sorry, but your child should have been more responsible or not brought it in the first place.

  3. pay her back because you have no proof that they have it.

  4. It depends on how much you value your friendship with your neighbor.

If she has been good to you -which it seems as though she has, seeing as you owe her money- I would say that you should pay her back what you owe.  Plus, the next time you need to borrow money, she will be more willing.  Could you imagine if you didn't pay her back, and then needed to borrow money again?

On the other hand, if she is not a great friend, and is being completely un-helpful with the game boy situation, I would say do not pay her back, or at least make the $ amount equivalent. (I.e. If you owe her $500, and the game boy was $250, reimburse her $250) You should explain to her why you are not paying her, or only paying her partially what you originally owed her.  Tell her if the game boy shows up somehow, you will reimburse her the rest.

It also depends on how old your daughter is, and if she is old enough to take responsibility for her belongings.  It really stinks that these days you can't trust anyone, but that's how it is.  Maybe you should not allow her to leave the house with expensive items anymore.  Although, it is sad that you should have to do that, especially when she was only visiting a neighbors house.

  5. Dont give her the money, she didnt help you find the game. If she asks for the money say,"TO BAD SUCKER!" and run away

  6. it sucks that she has a crappy attitude, but you still owe her money. the two situations are not related. you owed her money before this happened so i think that you would be lowering yourself to her level if you didn't repay her. maybe she is acting this way because she wants the money you owe her back. she might be bitter.

i would go over, with your daughter, or your whole family and calmly ask them if the girls could search for the game boy. if they can't find it, ask if you could set up a date when you helped them look, if today didn't suit.

i would mention the money. say something like, maybe friday would work, i want to bring you that money i borrowed on payday.

    take care. good luck. sd

  7. Yes you should pay her back. Ask your child if someone took it from her or what. If she just lost it then there isnt alot you can do to get it back.

  8. I would say it would be the ethical thing to do to pay her back. Ask your daughter if she truly lost it in her house or just forgot it there... maybe your neighbor will be more willing to look for your child's game if you're on better terms.

  9. UHM NO DONT GiVE HER THE MONEY. iF SHE DONT WANT TO HELP U LOOK FOR THAT EXPENSSiVE *** GAME THiNG THEN YU SHU=LDNT GiVE HA SHiiT!!!

UNLESS YUR DAUGHTER WAZ JUST iRRESPONSiiBLE N LOST HERSELF..

  10. how much do you owe her

  11. i wouldn't give her money, because she's probably letting her own kids play with the gameboy, tsk, tsk naughty neighbors

  12. Pay her back but learn a lesson a hard one for your daughter about reslponsibility.

  13. maybe that is why she doesn't care, because you owe her money. Ask if you can search for the game boy in her house and see what happens
