  1. im watching topgear

  2. try the sky LOL ! only joking

  3. start off with the moon, then look for orions belt, there is a nice easy nebula to spot there. you are best off finding a young astronomers club if she is really interested

  4. Go and buy the latest copy of Sky at night magazine, it has on the cover disk and introduction to sky hoping!

If you bought the scope from Argos it probably isn't very good, but even toy scopes these days can show planets and brighter sky objects. But it's best to start with the moon.

And search for local astronomy clubs

  5. At the moon

  6. Get a nice star map and start looking at things like The Milky Way and all the major constellations you can see at this time of year.  You need to find somewhere away from light pollution for things to show up really well.  My bro lives near Dunmow, and he's had some lovely pix from his camera mounted on the telescope just in his back garden.

  7. The Bedroom Window of the local Prostitute.

  8. To start off with it depends on the power of the telescope and design, but if you have never used one before start off with looking at the Moon, I know it sounds boring as we look at it everyday, but have a look at the edges of the seas (the big expanse of dark areas, look for specific craters, the best of course being Tycho, which is the big one towards the bottom of the moon.  After that if you want something more interesting, start looking at Jupiter and Saturn, the moons of Jupiter create a mini solar system and should be visible with most telescopes, Saturn of course you should just about pick up the ring blur, if it is a really good telescope you may be lucky and see some more details.

There are plenty of strange and wonderful sights to be seen in the night sky on a good night, if you get a little more stuck, go tho the BBC website and type in Sky at Night, this is always a good source of what is happening around the night sky in the upcoming 28 days.

Have fun, it is a great adventure for a beginner.
