She has had it checked and there have been no really satisfactory answers. They still come up now and then. Anyone else ever experience this?

  1. Depends on her age but some kids just bruise more easily and more often than others, even if they don't play rough. She might be unaware that she's bumped into something if she's not physically sensitive.I used to get bruises on my thighes when I was in highschool and never realized that I was pressing them into my desk hard enough to make marks. If you have any reason to suspect that someone is bruising her on purpose, you need to have a serious talk with her and find out. But if you don't have reason to think that, she could just be oblivious to unintentional, self-bruising.

  2. She may be getting bullied at school. Or , she may get bruises a lot if she falls down and runs into stuff often.

  3. if your daughter drinks more milk then food it can cause anemia, and anemia will cause her to bruise easily

  4. yep some of us just bruise easily. not sure what age your daughter is but sometimes children get rough with each other, both unintentionally and intentionally.

  5. While a lot of people are more resilient than others, some just bruise easy.  She could be bumping into wall corners, tables, or other things and not even notice it but still wind up with a bruise.  I've had the same thing all my life;  little round bruises or lines on my arms and legs from where I've bumped quite painlessly into things and haven't even noticed.  When I worked in a bakery, my legs were constantly covered with 'em from brushing into box corners.  My younger sister, 14, gets them all over her arms as well and she's healthy as a horse.

If these are huge, painful, blotchy bruises that seem to appear out of nowhere, then you obviously need to have her checked out more (perhaps some bloodwork done, because she may have an iron deficiency which does cause a person to bruise more easily), but if they're similar to what I described and her tests are coming back clean, I don't think you have to worry.

    All the best.

  6. my sister also get those for no reason , It just that a girls body of your daughters age gets bruises easily by bumping into something not too hard but it shows up .

  7. Unexplained bruising is very common in women. As you suspected, the most common causes are bumping into things without realizing it. Some people are more susceptible to bumps and some people bruise more easily than others. Bruises can easily occur in those who exercise rigorously, resulting from microscopic tears in blood vessels under the skin. Bruises may also occur, or appear, more frequently in thinner people, because there isn’t as much fat to cushion against injury and a bruise is more likely to be apparent. Bruises will also occur and appear more frequently in older people, because our skin thins as we age and the tissues that support the underlying blood vessels become increasingly fragile. Many medications may also increase the risk of bruising: taking aspirin, ibuprofen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; anticoagulants; or even birth control pills may increase bruising.

What we worry about is when unexplained or increased bruising may indicate a bleeding disorder. Medical conditions such as liver or kidney disease; blood disorders, such as hemophilia, platelet dysfunction, thrombocytopenia, leukemia, and multiple myeloma; connective tissue disorders including scurvy, Marfan’s syndrome, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome may all cause easy bruisability. If you are also having nosebleeds, longer or heavier periods, or bleeding gums when you brush your teeth, you should consult your physician.

Most bruises do not require treatment unless they are painful. In most cases, applying an ice pack or cold compress to the area for 15 minutes two to three times per day should help. For discomfort, choose acetaminophen rather than a non-steroidal or aspirin-containing preparation. Call your doctor if a bruise is accompanied by swelling and extreme pain (especially if you take a blood-thinning medication). You should contact your physician if a bruise does not improve within two weeks or fails to completely clear after three or four weeks.

In general, a daily multi-vitamin will not prevent bruises or anemia. Many physicians recommend increasing dietary Vitamin C or taking vitamin C supplements to help prevent or diminish bruising in patients with easy bruising, since Vitamin C plays a major role in strengthening blood vessels. While controlled research data is limited, doctors often suggest that people with easy bruising supplement with 100 mg to 3 grams of vitamin C per day for several months. Topical arnica is also considered by some practitioners to be among the best wound-healing herbs. Some healthcare practitioners recommend mixing 1 tablespoon of arnica tincture in 500 ml water, then soaking thin cloth or gauze in the liquid and applying it to the injured area for at least 15 minutes four to five times per day. For most bruises, however, this is not necessary.

    hope this helps(",

  8. Some people just bruise reaaalllyy easily. If she was doing an activity like skipping and the rope hit her arm, that could even cause a bruise. Or a missed catch of a ball. Or an absent minded slap with a pencil.

Sucks, but happens to some people.

  9. how old is she i would ask her how that happend

she could sleep walk and like run into something

  10. i've experienced that my whole life. i wake up with bruises all the time, especially on my legs. i've been checked too and it's not low iron in my blood or anything. the doctor told me it just happens.

  11. maybe she's being beat. have you talk to your husband or her boyfriend or girlfriend.

  12. well thats normally what happens before you get a stroke.

    but thats probably not it.

  13. no but try talking to her.May b its her boyfriend or some one close and she don't want to tell u

    but ask her

  14. What is your daughter's age?  Does she do sports or have gym class?  Are they doing something different in gym?  Does she have an ear infection?  Need more information.

  15. Just saw this on the news. Is she on any blood thinners or aspirin regimen ? This is a major cause of skin bruising.

  16. i used to get this all the time. this is becuause, i think, her body is at a valnerable time which causes it to be easily brused, damaged etc. she may just had knocked her arm without realising it and it comes up really bad.

  17. Physical abuse?

  18. in my sleep i toss around and in the morning i will have like a bruise on my arm or leg cause it hit something hard....maybe she tosses in her sleep and hits the night stand..or something...thats what happened to me and my little cousin

  19. I am anemic and have that problem often if I don't take iron. One of the best iron supplements as far as absorption is a product called Floradix.

  20. well i am anemic and i get bruises all the time... so i know i bruise easily.. but i can never remember why i would have the bruises. it got the point where i would have to write down each time i accidentally bumped into something or had pressure on a spot on my skin somewhere... so that i could remember when the bruises popped up a few days later. people were actually believing that i was getting physically abused...

have you asked your daughter about this?

it could be, God forbid, something worse, so you might want to be aware who she is surrounding herself with.

i would get her checked for anemia and then review her daily activities... such as sports, etc.
