  1. My son had this a couple weeks ago. I got puked on a ton and then I got the bug too. Im telling you his was brutal. Im sorry your love bug is sick. Give her popsicles and lots of liquid. Dont make the mistake I did and gave my son foods I shouldve kept blan. Keep it light crackers and juice. Believe it or not water can aggrovate their bellys. My pediatrician told me this. Mix the water with koolaid or gateraide. Keep forcing popcicles (sp) make sure she stays hydrated and has three peepee diapers. Make sure she has saliva and tears. Just hold her tight and make sure she takes small sips of liquid like three teaspoons every hour is enough. And be ready to get it next I did! God Bless

  2. Get a syringe fill it up with Gatorade mixed with diet sprite and give it to her every 15-20 minutes to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. Then every 30 minutes, and gradually cut down as she gets better. That's what you need to be concerned about. She will be fine, the doctor is right. That's what my daughters pediatrician told me to do with my 18 month old and she was better in a couple of days.

  3. i think you should take her to the hospital

  4. BRAT diet for 24 hours....BANANAS RICE APPLESAUCE TOAST!  Push fluids that is the one thing you need to push, try pedialight or popsicles!!

  5. Maje sure she is not getting dehydrated...give her plenty of pedialite.

I would call the doctor again and let him know the change of symptoms.  The switch to vomiting could be important, but it can't hurt to ask!

  6. Does she have a fever ,if yes she might have herpangina ,they're mouth blisters and it sounds like she has the symptoms ,i would take her to a doc of the hospital cause she might get dehydrated.

  7. hmmm sounds like it can be a little food poisoning..but not necessarily but give her like gatorade and a banana to restore her potassium and electrolytes because she needs it since she is losing alot of liquid and buy a antidiraheal tablet too to stop the diarrhea...yeaa there isnt much the doctor..unfortunately can do but that should help her out...hope she feels better.....and avoid giving her heavy foods like stick to soup and crackers and gradually build her back to regular foods/....unless is gets worse don't take her to the hospital because u will be in an emergency room waiting all of for ever..cuz as long as she is breathing..conscience and not losing alot of blood she will not be treated as first priority and you will waiting for ever which sucks..when i had those symtoms my mom put me on the brat diet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRAT_diet..... taht helps

  8. Get a second opinion sweety. I wish you guys the best!

  9. If she's throwing up now, i would call the doctor back.  Children can get dehydrated very easily, especially if they have diarhea and are throwing up.

  10. Doc is right - it will have to run it's course, as long as she doesn't get dehydrated. Watch to make sure she cries tears and that her mouth is wet. Do fluids only (pedialite, water, gatorade are ok - no juice or milk) until she stops puking, and then do the brat diet until the diarhea stops.  My kids always get applesauce and plain crackers and do great with that. Stay away from dairy products (cheese, yogurt, etc) until she is completely well. Good luck!

  11. If she's eating and keeping some stuff down and peeing, she should be okay, but Follow Your Instincts! If you think something is wrong....have her seen.

  12. Get her back to the doctor and if they do nothing you take her to the emergency room.  There is something is very wrong with your child and I do not think you should just wait for it to "run its course".

  13. My children have gotten sick with the stomach flu. It is severe diarrhea and throwing up with fever. It can get really bad and deadly. I had to take my kids to the er because as soon as they drank it was coming back up or out. They gave them this medicine meant for cancer patients to ease the throwing up because it was so severe and put IVs in them. And I took them as soon as they started throwing up because it was nonstop.  I know they say just keep fluids in them but if they can't keep them down or in long enough they will dehydrate and it can get very serious really quick.  So be very careful and if ever in doubt take them to the ER.

  14. If she has been throwing up for hours on top of the diarhea then I would call her doctor back because she had dehydrate very easily. If they told you there isnt anything they can do then I would give her clear fluids and try pedialyte or you can try the lil pepto bismol for children. You will have to crush it up unless she can chew it up herself or you can mix a lil juice in with it. You can also try to get her to eat crackers, something lite on her lil tummy.

  15. There are many forms of the stomach bug going around and since I have two former premies they seem to always catch ANYTHING going around.  I have been through what you are going through many many times... here is what I have been told so many times.

How much is she vomiting... is it all of her food or drink? If not that is good because she is able to keep some down.  Let her have some plain crackers but they always tell me not to give the kids water because it sits too heavy on the kid's tummy.  Also, if you are giving her more juice since she is sick will also make the diarhea worst... been there done that, got the stained clothes.  I knew that you were suppose to give them the pedialyte but the more you give the worst it CAN make it if you don't watch it.  If she is able to keep a bit down you might want to give her some plain rice... it is harder to vomit and it some how helps with the diarhea too, at least that is what my son's gastro doctor told us.

Something to watch out for... make sure her tongue stays wet, while she won't feel like jumping up and running around make sure she isn't getting too dehydrated.  It can happen pretty fast when they are that little... we ended up in the ER many times getting fuild with my son because he would drain in a matter of hours...  Just keep an eye on her mouth it is a dead give away!

      I hope this helps.
