  1. My son is 3 and he had bloody noses 2 or 3 times a day for a few days at a time. We tried humidifiers, nasal sprays and Clariton to no avail. The Doctor advised us he needed to have his nose cauterized. His membrane was thin and allowed the vien to sit on the surface. When it was irrated by allergy causing things, a bump or blowing his nose it would cause it to bleed. Most time he would be doing nothing and his nose would bleed and take 20 mins to get it stopped. Since the surgery he has been nose bleed free! Good luck. Hopefully you can check that out with your doctor

  2. my mother also had this problem, take her to the doctor. It also runs in genatics.

  3. that used to happen to me a lot too when i was little. now it happens because i'm pregnant. the capillaries in my nose are sensitive because of my hormones and that's what causes me to have bloody noses. maybe because the fact that she is 14 and going through changes that her capillaries are sensative.

  4. Yep - take her to a doctor.

Could be many things - like a deficiency in Vit K, too much aspirin, high blood pressure, or just a delicate capillary inside the nose.

If a damaged capillary is identified, the doctor can cauterize it.

I had this done when I was 18 after years of nose bleeds and it stopped them for 2-3 years.
