  1. Depending on the state, she may be too young to work. Babysitting is always very lucrative. Tell her to take a babysitting class at the Red Cross and then she can advertise among her friends' parents.

  2. Tell her there is no rush... she will have the next 50 or 60 years to work.

  3. Try a park.  Maybe they have some little projects that she can help with.  If $ isn't an issue, there are a lot of enviro groups looking for volunteers.

  4. Try the local library

  5. My daughter is the same age and is desperately wanting a job, she could do a paper round but there is a long list of youngsters waiting. Other places she could work are shops, horticultural work, domestic work,(hotels etc.), cafes and restaurants, hair dressers and riding stables, or so the law says,HOWEVER, as we have discovered, potential employers are restricted by insurances and also complications such as youngsters needing to be supervised, eg. not allowed to use a kettle, not allowed to lift weights...boxes for shelf filling etc. A nanny state or what? Guess what else they are not allowed to do,  help on Milk rounds. Also there are restrictions on hours they can work.

Your "Juvenile Employment Office" at your local council should be able to give more advice, or else your local "Connexions".
