  1. your kid is 2 and knows its abc's that means you have a gifted child

  2. Most can sing them at two years old, a few slightly before.  I might start to worry if the child was three and could not sing the song after it had been heard many times.

  3. It is great that she can sing them, but when you say "she knows them" can she recognize the letter when you point it out or can she just sing the song ? I am a retired teacher and they can sing it, but for real reading they have to be able to show you, or at least tell  you the letter when you point to it, but knowing the song and pointing to the letters as you go will help the child recognize them, but then take them out of order ??

  4. It is good that she is able to sing ABC and it is normal for kids to start at 2. But you need to encourage her to do more than sing ABC. Introduce her to words and reading. 2 is wonderful age to start it. To know the right method of doing it read this

  5. My niece could do it at 1, but I think most start at 2. Some maybe start at 5,so I would definitely say she's off to a good start.

  6. I have 2 boys ages 2 and 5. Both could say their abc's by 2. My oldest can tell you where he lives, his phone number, and count to 50...I could go on and on but you get the point. He's pretty smart. And my 2 year old makes sentences and tries to tell stories. I think its all in how you talk to them and teach them. Ive always talked to mine like they were little people not little babies. I'd ask them questions and watch them giggle and try to talk back. They catch on fast. Keep doing what your doing she seems to be pretty smart!

  7. my  niece was 2 when she sang her ABC's

  8. 2 n up

  9. Singing the ABC song does not mean they know their ABC's.  The important thing is that you are reading to your child and teaching her the concepts of print.  When you read, have her predict what will happen next.  Point to the words sometimes while you are reading.  Always read the title and author.

  10. this might sound weird bt i learnt how to sing abc when i was 1 and a half. i guess it all depends on how fast your child learns

  11. 2

  12. Whenever they can sing, they can know their ABCs.  The thing with ABCs at that age is it's just rote memorization of a pattern of sounds set to music.

  13. My little cousin is almost 2 and she knows most of the alphabet. She likes to dance while singing it to my 5 month old brother. It's just so cute.

  14. my daughter was two also.

  15. I sang my abcs at age 2.

  16. Just because children can sing the ABC's does not mean that she knows what the letters mean.  Children at this age really don't need to know the letters, because they have no meaning to them.  Knowing the song is fine, but do not pressure her with flashcards, etc. to learn the letters.  It would be better to incidentally teach colors by saying, "You have the red truck.", while playing with her.  Know that children also learn very litte from TV and "educational" programs. The best educational thing is you, and the interactions that you give her.

  17. This is great! Now if you get a chart and point to the letters with her she will start to recognize them. My daughter had a silly poster that we used. She started reading at 3 independantly.

  18. It is great that she can do that at that age.  And please make sure you keep on teaching her.  I live with my nephew.  He is 6 now and has bad parents.  He didn't even start talking until he was about 4.  He was able to say stuff of course, but his parents didn't enforce any learning.  Then he was late in learning english and grammer.  It was hard for him to ennunciate words in Kindergarden and he was having a very difficult time socializing with his fellow classmates.  It was hard for him to catch on but he's doing fine now.  All I'm saying is that the future depends on what you do now.  Hey, maybe she'll be popular when she gets older!

  19. My next door neigbor is 1 almost 2 and she can sing abc's it is never to young children do stuff at diffrent times i feel that at any age you can learn stuff

  20. My daughter is also 2 and can sing her abc and she always love the song deep and wide and she sings Jesus loves me, she goes 2 a christian child care center everyday and they go 2 devotion everyday!

  21. 3 or 4. you should feel very proud for having a smart child.
