  1. Try talking to her about it. Let her know its wrong and tell her that when she does it and praise her for being nice to other kids!

    Help with mine?

  2. Okay this may sound a lil harsh but listen to the reasons behind it. When she hits someone then you need to hit her back. Now given don't knock her down but a lil smack on the arm or something just enough to sting. At her age she does not understand the concept of hurt so when you tell her that hitting hurts it goes in one ear and out the other. On the other hand, when she hits someone and you give her a lil stinger tap she can associate a feeling with the word hurt, hence the hitting should stop. This is not something that will happen overnight, she may need to be reminded a few times but it worked like a charm on my 2.

  3. A firm NO! if she stops before she hits the kid give her a sticker. Worked for my daughter with biting

  4. I agree with the first person. Praise her when she does good things, tell her what's wrong when she doesn't.

  5. not much mine is 3 and still doing it, try a time out chair.

  6. wait for one of them to hit her back. thats what made my brother stop hitting others.

  7. You can't "talk to" a 21 month old child and expect her to listen to reason.  Reason is not something which children are capable of until usually the age of 7, sometimes as earl y as 4 or 5.  A light slap on the wrist or forearm, a remonstrative word and tone of voice, followed by an immediate removal from the area is usually effective.  This doesn't teach her that "violence is okay"  On the contrary, it teaches her that hitting hurts and that there are consequences for misbehavior.
