  1. My daughter wanted to use a REAL toilet because that is what I use but she did not want help and she could not sit comfortably by herself.  I researched and found a very sturdy stool with sides for the toilet so she could hold on the whole time without ever touching the toilet with her hands.  http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Child-Corpor...

This stool made all the difference and she was potty trained right away.  Very safe and well worth it.  Hope this helps.

  2. My son is 2 1/2 & I recently bought him one of those kiddie seats that fit on the regular toilet.  He sat on it once & did a huge BM in the toilet which scared him to tears & hasn't sat on it since.  He will sit on the small potty on the floor though.  Does she watch you when you sit on the toilet?  If not you should let her...maybe that might work?  Also, what about getting one of those little steps so she could rest her feet on it so she doesn't feel so high up.  What about bribing her with a little treat just for sitting on it.  Maybe first with her pants on, just for a minute & then you can gradually progress to her sitting on it without her underwear.  I give my son balloons as rewards (dollar shop), happy face one for trying to go potty & then one each for a p**p and/or pee.  I wouldn't force her to use it though..it might just increase her anxiety.  Tell her she'll have to wear a pull up when you're out since she won't use the toilet & she may end up feeling so uncomfotable that she's willing to try it.  Hope that helps!  Best of luck!!

  3. is she scared to fall in? ask her why she doesint wanna go on the public one then try to solve it and talk to her. thats all i got sorry ):

but she will soon outgrow it she has to lol.

  4. Have you seen those little travel potty seats that fit over the big potties?  They fold up and fit in  your purse or diaper bag, and have elmo or some characters on them.  Lots of kids think that they will get flushed away because the big potties are so loud and powerful, so her fears are warranted.  If she had a seat where she did not feel as though she was going to fall in, she might be more willing to try.

  5. Have you tried holing her hand or hiding her whole body on the toilet seat in public? My son was very afraid to sit on it too, and I would hold him on it and then eventually he'd feel more comfy by himself. If that doesn't work, they do have those travel potties for the car, you could have her go there if she feels more comfy until she feels comfy on bigger toilets? Not ideal but might help if on the go. Hope this helps!
