Whatever food i give her she wants to breast feed immediately after compeleting that food , which is stressing me out a lot.Nearly 6 times breast-feeding & two times solids feeding is taking too much of my time. Please suggest me some way to get out of this problem. She was solely breast-fed for 5 months. No rude answers pls

  1. Shes only nursing 6 times in a day? That's not enough nursing. My son will nurse every 2 hours, sometimes every hour if he's not feeling well.

  2. Most pediatricians recommend just breast milk for 6 months, but if you insist on solids just start with rice cereal--JUST RICE CEREAL until she is tolerating it well. Give it a few weeks.

Is she developmentally ready for solids? can she sit? is her tongue doing the eating thing or the thrust-out-the-food thing???

I don;t understand why this is stressing you out so much and how it is taking too much of your time. She needs the food--she isn't asking you to decorate cookies or something unnecessary. If the two solid feeds are too much, then skip them.

  3. the best baby foods for constipation are: pears, peaches, prunes, and apples.  can you substitute a bottle for some of those times?  or how about some of your family and friends helping out with some of the solid food feedings.  i am a grandmother and i helped my daughter a whole lot, and still do.  you are still a great mother even if you get some help.  blessings to you. ps  my grandson had those fruits at that age, but some doctors are different.  they make organic baby food also.   i am sure you have good reasons for doing the homemade food.

i was just thinking it would save you some time.  i hope you get some rest soon.

  4. My son always wants a bottle after he eats. Every time! Even if it is only an oz or 2 but he has got to wash it down with something. I read in one of my parenting magazines that their nutrition is still suppose to be coming from their milk until they are like 9 months so make sure your little one is getting enough milk.

  5. if she is constipated, she needs more liquids. Give her something with prunes or cranberry juice. But not too much or you'll be sorry with cleaning diapers all day.

  6. Breastfeeding 6 times in a day at 5 months isn't much at all.  That's only every 4 hours.  My son nursed every 2-3 hours until he was 9 months old.

Also, at this age you should nurse first and offer solids second.  They don't really need solid food for nutrition, it's more about taste, texture and trying new things.

If she is constipated, you should stop the solids.  Her digestive system may just simply not be ready for it.  Most doctors will not recommend starting solid food until 6 months old.

There is no "way" out of this, and it's definitely not a problem.  It's jut a new baby girl wanting to eat so she can grow big and healthy.  Just follow her lead!!

  7. Try breastfeeding FIRST before you feed solids. This may help. She may be constipated...rice will constipate some babies...think of B.R.A.T. Bread, Rice, Applesauce & Toast ALL will cause constipation in babies.
