  1. ask a doctor ??

  2. Get a pump,so you wont have that problem anymore. Then your nipple can heal up.

  3. My health visitor recommends that you take the baby off the breast and say No (but at 5 weeks I doubt she'll understand No!).  However she might get the message that every time she does this the breast will be removed.  It is sore - I could feel it right up to my scalp!!

PS use the purple Lansinol cream - it heals things up really fast and you don't have to remove it before she feeds.

  4. I think the more you do it the less it hurts - so fight through the pain and just manoeuvre her into a more comfortable position.

  5. try using a nipple gaurd you can buy them at target for like $2 but it takes off so much pressure and you cannot feel the pain when using it that is the only way i was able to breast feed

  6. Just make sure you are getting the whole areola in her mouth.  If she keeps latching on to the same spot it will become raw and painful.  Make sure she latches above the bruised area.
