  1. One would need to observe your baby for an hour or so before any decisions can be made.  From what you describe, she's probably fine, but who knows?!

Do you have parents as teachers through your school district?  Call the main offices and ask for the early childhood program and then ask if they have an early intervention program.  They should send someone to your home for free to ask you a few questions and to observe the baby.

You can also ask about first steps.  This is a free program as well.  They do charge a few families but many qualify for free services.  They too, come to your home.

    Good Luck

  2. my daughter is 9.5 months. she was rolling over a few weeks ago and pulling herself a little, but not standing and crawling and now she's doing both ALL THE TIME. everything happens so fast, so don't worry yet. she's probably just taking her time.

  3. every child develop in different way. even though she might not be crawling, you can always teach her. try to roll her over on the bed and put some toys in front of her and ask her to reach out. that's what i did to my baby when he's 4mths old, and he began to crawl at the end of 4mths old.

now he's 11mths old, and he can't even call papa mama no matter how hard i teach him and i'm taking care of him 24hrs, while my friend's baby who only meet once a week because she sent to babysitter, can call papa and mama to the correct person. mine walking sideways now, and hers only learn how to stand.

i don't think it's a big problem now for your baby since she's quite young, but i understand your feeling of worrying. i, myself has asked a few times on tricks on how to teach my baby to call papa and mama and whether is it normal for my baby to this and that.

i did realize now, that baby develops in their own way. give them time and try to guide them. things will work well.

  4. My first child never crawled and only at 10 months started to stand holding on the table.  She also did not start walking before 15 months.  I don't think you should be worried at this point.

  5. Be patient for heavens sake!! She will do things in her own time. Although baby girls are generally quicker to do things than baby boys, both my boys didn't sit up till they were around 10 months, even then I had to put cushions around them, and they didn't start walking till they were 14 months old.The most important thing to remember as a new mother is that there are NO SET RULES to what is normal and what isn't. Babies don't follow guidelines. Talk to your mum and follow her guide because she is the closest person to give you the best advice. Please please please.....Let her do things in her own time.
