My daughter is allucinating/having nightmares/lethargic. What doctor should she see?

My daughter has had pretty frequent nightmares all of her life, but they have just started getting extremely vivid; even when she is awake, she does not know that it was a dream. Recently, she has started hallucinating. She sees human faces. She has also been extremely lethargic. (She's six years old, if that makes a difference.)

What kind of doctor should I take her to? Our primary care doctor or a neurologist, or someone else?

  1. Start out with your primary care doctor, if they aren't sure they will give you a refferal... GOOD LUCK!

  2. she doesn't need a doctor

she needs a priest or pastor,

    this sounds like something spiritual

  3. Take her to your primary care doctor, and next time she hallucinates in a nice soft calm voice tell her that there is no one there and that you are there to protect her or it may be a god idea to ask her what the people look like that she is seeing, she may be some that she misses or fears, or it may be that she is feeling lonely so she sees people in order to not feel lonely. If your primary care doctor can't figure out whats wrong she may need to see a phsycologist.

  4. Get your doctor to make a referral to whomever he deems fit. You could also try praying for your daughter; BTW, does she play with ouija boards or anything like that?

  5. I would suggest taking her first to your pediatrician, and then if he or she sees that your daughter needs further help from a specialist, he or she can reccommend you the docotr that your pediatrician thinnks would best suit your situation, and your daughter's needs.  Has she been taking a medicine that she normally doesn't recently?... Certain medications can cause funky side effects and it could be affecting her- (presciption and over the counter)
