My daughter is going to London. How much will lunch cost?

My daughter's band/choir group will be in London for 4 days before going to Paris. How much will a typical lunch cost her and what should she try? She will be in Windsor and staying at the Thistle City Barbican Hotel.

Typical lunch can go anywhere from 3 pounds to 10 pounds. 3 pounds meaning you get a sandwich or a wrap, 10 pounds if you go to a pub. That being said, I definitely recommend her going to a pub for lunch, getting some sort of minced meat pie or fish & chips. However, if she wants to save money, she can get a pasty, which is around 3 pounds.

Well...it depends upon where she goes for lunch.  I would plan on around $8 American dollars though.  Most things are pretty expensive in Europe.

If you mean lunch like sandwich, snack and drink lunch, £5 or McDonald's & etc, the same, a restaurant, depending on the deal, maybe £15 for 2-3 courses.

For low cost cheap lunches then I would advise going to any Wetherspoons Pub in London.  Google wetherspoons for their website and locations.  They do very good 'two meal deals' for about  ÃƒÂ‚£6 to £7 for the two meals.  They are very nice places as well.

Well it depends on what she's having to eat.  If she just wants a sandwich/salad/soup etc. and a drink she'll be looking at paying about £5-7 (I go out and buy that sort of thing for my lunch everyday and that's roughly what I pay).  There's a load of chain style shops which sell that sort of thing such as Pret a manger and Eat and they're usually quite good.  Most of our major supermarkets also have 'metro' style shops in the city where you can buy things like pre-packed sandwiches, although they can be hit and miss.

If she's looking at having a sit down meal in a restaurant and eating something like pizza, pasta or noodles she'll probably be looking at paying around £10-£15 (although that will be one course and a drink).  Again, chain style restaurants will probably be your safest bet.  Pizza Express and Wagamamas are usually fairly good value for money and can be found on almost every street corner!

I see that some people above have recommended pubs for your daughter.  Whilst pubs do offer good value for money, if your daughter is below 16 (or sometimes even 18) some pubs may not allow her in (it depends on their own policy).  Even if they do let under-16s in they probably won't serve a large group of teenagers as it's not exactly what the locals are going to want when they're trying to have a quiet pint!

The lunch would cost her $5-20. She should eat healthy food so she will be strong in front of the audience and wont be nervous.
