  1. ur a mom u should know this lol try kotex..?

  2. Any kind. What kind do you use?

My oldest started at about 10. But started showing signs around 9 also.

I use Always so that is what we bought for her. I let her look at them and pick out some on her own too though so she'd feel in control. She always picks Always though.

  3. Use Always Long-Super pads. Preferably with wings because depending on the girl, their period might be heavy. My sister just got her period and she's 10 and she has a really heavy flow.

  4. I started young as well. They make lighter days pads, for younger girls. I used them as when I first started my period was very light.

  5. I feel that Stayfree or Always with wings are the best absorbers.

My 9 year old showed symptoms of starting her period (breast buds appeared) and I'm prepared.  Speaking from my own personal experience as a young'un back then, I personally liked Stayfree or Always with wings since they aborb the best and keeps you dry.

  6. I like the Always kind

My mother always gets the cheap kind that like always leak

I don't prefer Kotex too much either...

  7. any? and i think 9 is a lil too young?

  8. wow i got mine when i was thirtne but my mom got hers when she was ten

i use kotex and equate, kotex is better for younger girls

    good luck to her

  9. Kids are starting younger and younger these days. . .growth hormones in food. . .

Anyways, there's not much of a difference between pad brands.  But definitely keep tampons on the radar, they will make her much less miserable and self-conscious.

  10. It really depends on how heavy the period is but just to be safe use long ones with wings and if its not that bad switch to smaller ones(i use the ALWAYS brand of pads)

  11. well kids are starting younger and younger these days Pads are a def...they make these really great thin ones by always if her period is light...you can barely feel them and snice she is young i think that would be the best for her

  12. For the person  that said 9 is too young, what is she supposed to do? I started at 9 and I am 35. It happens. My 9.5 yr old is very close herself. What I have bought is a light days pantyliner type for when she starts having discharge, which usually happens before they have a real period. Once she starts a full period I will see how big of one she needs. Sometimes a girls first few periods are more like spotting where a pantyliner would be fine. I use overnights so I guess I should keep a medium pad on hand as well. I just looked for one that looked like it would fit on her under ware and was small to keep at school if needed.

I personally hate the dri-weave from always, and I prefer Kotex brand pads, I think you will just have to try a few to see which she prefers.

Good luck, do you have the tears over nothing as well LOL I cant say much I have those once a month as well.

Edit: the hormones in food makes me nuts, it may have a little to do with it, but my MIL is 72, my SIL is 53 and I am 35 we all started at 9, a lot of it can be genetic, more so genetic than food related my doctor said.

  13. my friend was 8... i was 12 it can start at anytime dont listen to any1 else

  14. There are no "best" pads for her...ones that fit and absorb and don't cause a lot of odor are good, any brand will do that though.   And "hiny" dear...9 years is not too young.  I have an 8 year old entering puberty, my 11 year old started having periods just before her 10th birthday.

  15. well I here they can start their periods as early as nine so you should probably take her to the doctor first before you go out and buy pads and waste your money

  16. For pantiliners, Kotex lightdays are good - they do the job and stay secure.

For regular period, nothing beats Always Ultra with wings - and my sisters and I have tried them all! Luckily enough they do go on sale once in a while so stocking up works.

It would be good to get her using tampons after some time, though - she'll be much less self-conscious. We all used Playtex tampons.

  17. The ones with the wings are good. Make sure you get some that she is comfortable with, not the big and bulky ones.

Lots of girls these days are starting at 9, that is not unusual at all.
