  1. You can try corn syrup.  It cannot do any harm except cause diarrhea if you give them too much.  Brand name is Cairo syrup.  Works pretty well.

  2. before you give her anything to eat in the morning, give her as much warm water as she can take. Then wait for the p**p!

  3. Mix her regular juice with prune juice.  Or give her prunes to eat.  Also, the doctor told me that sometimes taking her temperature rectally can stimulate her to go to the bathroom.

  4. For my son, the Gerber baby food prunes works wonders.  He's 22 mo old and all it takes is one Stage 1 prune serving and he's good to go!

  5. All the foods/juices recommended by Erika.  And glycerine or soap suppositories if she still can't "do" after all that.

  6. diluted prune juice worked for my child

  7. Pears, plums, peaches, prunes, applee/apple juice, grapes/grape juice, prunes, whole grains, fiber foods

    Avoid bananas and dairy

    :)

  8. Far most important is good hydration - water; veggies and fruit (I heard that bananas can cause constipation).  An old remedy is corn syrup but there have been some scares about it and I forgot the rationale concerning it but you can ask your ped.  Also, my granddaughter's ped suggest just mineral oil but she is 10 yrs. so ask about that also.

  9. I've always been told prune juice but it never worked for me...  I would cut out some starches for a few days and  I would increase her water intake as well as offer her more fruits like pears, plums, grapes.  They say that apples can be constipating in some people.

  10. raisins make my son p**p like there's no tomorrow!  it's one of his favorite snacks but i try no to give him too many because if i do then they burn his but

  11. when my daughter was constipated my dr. told me increase water intake, and make sure she gets a LOT of fruits and vegetables, about 1tsp karo syrup mixed in with 4oz water, or 1tsp brown sugar in 4oz of water, or the mylicon gas drops, and if nessecary use glycerin suppositories

or I can't remember if your daughter is old enough yet but the company little remedies makes stool softener.
