  1. I would try and find some cheap plastic leis....and the flowers for the ears for girls.......i would try and serve some food related to hawaii.....make some sticky rice....white rice with less water added when you cook it....and fry some spam up (hawaiians have a thing for spam lol) go online and find some recipes for hawaiian food....and make "Plate lunches" thats what they call take out plates here in hawaii.....the plates always have the sticky white rice.........macaroni salad and a chocie of a meat....Kalbi (short ribs) is big out here......id suggest going to google and do a search for hawaiian food......they have alot of chicken type plates....which most kids love....

also for the drinks id do some virgin drinks.......see if you cna find a recipe for a Lave Flow, pina coloda, daqaris things like that.....

and then see if you can find a combo drink with Pineapple Orange and Guava (POG is what they call it out here)

for decor id tr to find cute floaral patterens or really bright colors.....and see if you can find them fake blow up palm trees.....and get some tiki torches a see if you can get a list of "Pidgin" words...the local talk...that would be kind fun to teach the kids....or make a game out of it like for instance say a word in Pidgin and see if they can guess it....some examples:

    Shishi- Pee

I have to go to the bathroom Mom, I have to Shishi.

Da Kine- pretty much what ever you want it to be

Go get me da kine so i can take a picture. (da kine-camera in this example)

i need da kine to cute my food!(da kine-knife)

    choke-lots

    I have choke candy.

    Grinds-good food

Ahh these grinds are the best!

    Pau- done/finished

    My homework is all Pau.

I added some links for you to check out for ideas...

    hope I helped

  2. Try these recipies.  They were from a luau episode on the Food Network, taped in HI.

  3. Here are some ideas:

  4. k, my friend did this. make everyone wear hula skirts and put hibiscus flowers in their hair(girls) and for food have like, luau food, lots of pineapple, mango, and tropicalness. and make smoothies. make sure you have all different stuff to make smoothies with, and you can get hawaiian music at like target or pretty much any store that sells cds, and for stuff to give out, you could get some of those little dancing hula grils, those r always cute, and of course you have to have lays!!! im talking about those flowerish necklaces btw lol. umm and i thinx thats it!!! :)

  5. Is it possible to find someone to come teach them to "hula"? It wouldn't have to be real authentic, just fun. You can get some great old retro hula music like Don Ho or those little ukelele bands.

Limbo isn't at all related to Hawaii, but if you're doing bare feet and a tropic feel, you might as well pick up some Jamaican CDs and have a limbo contest.

Think tropical food - pineapple, coconut. Grill chicken (because teenagers won't eat pork or fish, which would be authentic) and you can grill pineapple too. Kebabs. Coconut-flavored drinks.

Giveaways would definitely be cheesy plastic leis. Have fun!

  6. get laeis, make some virgin/pina colada. Have a sundae icream bar with nuts and chocolate and cherrys sprinkles and what not. Play some hawaiian music you can buy a CD at Target or download off of Itunes. Rent Jaws and watch it. Make hot dogs and chips. Make blue koolaid and punch. Grill pinapples. Make smores. Have a hoola dance contest. Give away 5 dollar gift cards for target or blockbuster. Get a pinata.

  7. How old is your daughter?

If she is small or a pre-teen then I would go by a local bakery and order her a Hawaiian theme cake (the baker can help you), go by your local Target or Walmart or K-mart and look in the aisle that has things like punch bowls and party platters.  Get a punch bowl (plastic) platters (plastic) that maybe has a fish theme to it, or something that looks more appropriate.  You can also get some cool looking glasses to go with it, maybe some that look like you could have an alcoholic drink in it.  Get some of those paper umbrellas that you can put into a drink (those will be on the party aisle).  Buy some canned pineapple juice (a few cans) and some seven up (you mix these 2 together to make punch).  Now just buy some cheese that is already cubed up to lay on the platter(s) some flavored crackers, some ranch dip, fresh veggies like baby carrots, celery sticks & maybe even cauliflower and broccoli. You may even want to get some pre-cut fruits like the cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and watermelon to put on platters.

As far as favors, that depend on the age.  Maybe small nail polishes & lip glosses, bracelets & necklaces, candy, nail stickers, anything girlie!  There are some games that you can get that is popular right now, that has the dance thing where you jump (dance) on the squares in pattern that you play on a video game and there are some you play on your tv too.

It would definitely help more knowing her age :)  Good luck!!!
