  1. that really depends if you go to urgent care they can give her one ASAP how could you forget?

  2. You have to ask them.  Check to see if there are any of those Immediate care centers around..most of them do school physicals right away.

  3. Get into where? The Doctor? If thats the case yes they'll still let her in, she's just missing a day. But why do you need to take her to that doctor? You can always go in tomorrow or the next day and next and sit there, call it a emergency.

  4. You should call the school as soon as possible and ask them.  They may be very strict on this or have some flexibility on it.

  5. If it is a public school, not only will they let you enroll her-they HAVE to.  I have heard of public schools requiring physicals for sports, but I do not believe they are allowed to do so for admission.

If it is a private school, you might be able to get an extension.  Call the school and ask.

You can also contact the doctor and tell them that you want to keep your appointment, but would like to be notified of any cancellations before then-they will give you a call in that event, and you might be able to get in sooner.

  6. Well, it depends on if she needs any vaccinations. I'm going into 7th grade this year, and if you have no proof of getting a tetanus shot recently, then you are turned away from campus until you do.

I'd call the school though, if that's not the case. If she really needs the physical, find a walk in clinic in your area. I'm sure that they do physicals.

  7. Yes I believe most schools allow the child to enroll as long as they have a physical scheduled within 30 days of the start of the school year.

  8. Why don't you just go to a walk-in clinic?  At the very least, I'd get a copy of her immunization record to prove that she's up to date.  At least until you can get her an appointment.

  9. What kind of school makes you get a physical to be excepted.  Every child is entitled to an education and if this is a private school then you are paying a lot of money for your child to attend and it shouldn't matter about a physical.  How many kids these days would pass a physical? not many I would imagine.  Kids come in all shapes and sizes and different athletic abilities and they should not discriminate against anyone because they are not athletic.  My daughter happens to be very athletic but I, on the other hand was not when I was her age.  My sister also had a lot of health problems when she was a kid so does that mean she is not entitled to a good education at the school of her choice because of that? I would check with the state laws regarding this matter and see if there is a loophole that will force them to let her in now.

  10. You don't have to go to your doctor for a school physical -- even a chiropractor can look her over and fill out the paper work. You probably would have to pay out of pocket or on a credit card rather than insurance, but it shouldn't cost more than $50. Call around. Surely someone can see her today or really any day you wish.

You could also call up to the hospital and see if they have a hospital staff doctor or nurse practitioner who could take five minutes and do it.

The school physical is really no big deal -- any medicalish person can look her over and fill out the form.

I know it's a pain and yet more time out of your day to get it done, but just get it over with and you won't have to worry about it for another few years.

Not being able to get her in to "her" doctor is no excuse for not doing it. You could ask to be put on a list for cancellation, but you would have to be able to rush her in when they had one and be available for that.

If the fact is you can't "get her in" because of your work schedule, you actually might have to miss work to take her since you forgot to do it earlier.  Sorry.
