  1. My daughter is 4 months also and shre has the same symptoms of teething. She wont take teething rings either. SHe bites down on them and screams, i was tolsd it was because her gums are so sore it hurts. I use a cold cloth in the freezer and rub her gums with it. I let her suck on a sippy cup with apple juice in it and it calms her down. Every baby is different, i wish u luck :)

  2. Yep she is pre-teething, My babies never liked anything cold in their mouth. I tried freezing a wet rag and have them naw on it. That didn't work.

Like yours they will pretty much naw on their pacies

  3. Are you giving her the nice hard baby cookies they make.. ? Yes they are messy but they are tasty so they usually chew on them even if they will not chew on the hard plastic teethers..  I dunno I dont think plastic or rubber is very tasty and baby may have a point..!

  4. my daughter hated teethers too and she's going to be 12 months with 9 teeth this saturday!! haha. I had to use a cold washcloth, she'd sit there and chew and suck on it. Took a few tries to show her what it was for but once she got it she dragged it around (ugh I know I was always giving her new ones haha). My daughter also uses pacifiers to chew on, not to suck. Her teeth are coming in perfectly. GL!

EDIT: I didn't freeze the washcloth, just ran it under cold water. My daughter definitely did not like things in her mouth that were too cold. :) Frozen stuff didn't work until much later and even than very VERY rarely. Mostly when other kids in the daycare were all chewing on them and she wanted one too haha.

  5. thats how my son is...teething but hates teething rings! try a small stuffed animal or a wet wash cloth instead. they work wonders for him. i think teething rings are hard for the younger ones cuz they dont know how to actually hold them in their mouths yet but with a wash cloth or stuffed toy, they can just kinda shove the thing in their face and as long as part of it makes it to their mouth, thats all they care about! ive also heard letting them chew on a green onion works but i havent tried it yet. and orajel is a lifesaver!

  6. My daughter just turned 6m/o on Saturday and has been doing the same things since she was 4m/o.  She doesn't like cold things either.  Try giving her teething rings that aren't cold.  I think it's the hard plastic that helps my daughter best.

ALSO- I just got this for her on Friday and she seems to be liking it.  It's a razbaby- binky that looks like a raspberry that they chew on.  She doesn't suck on it like a regular binky but she likes to grind her gums on it.  Well worth the investment.  It was $7 for two at walmart.com.  I used the in store pickup since they weren't available in my area.
