My daughter is turning 13. Do you have surprise party ideas?

I bought her a cute diamond ring. I wasn't giving her a party because my husband will be away for that date. Still I want to make something special for her. Not so big, because we live in an apartment and I don't have a lot of time to prepare. Her b-day is on August 6.

A "Mani/Pedi Party" (manicure/pedicure party) at a local salon for your daughter & 3 or 4 friends.  Call a couple of local salons, & go check them out.  Choose one & make arrangements ahead of time.  You could even ask if they'll let you decorate earlier that day.  When girls are finished, give your daughter a cute bag/basket with 6 or 7 teen magazines, 2-3 bottles of nail polish, polish-remover, files, fingernail decals, ect., or pre-paid cell phone, or  iTunes gift card.  If your budget permits, finish off day with a cool movie, & drop off girls on your way home (or fun pay-per-view movie at home, with popcorn, cake, ice cream, & sleepover on livingroom floor.)
