  1. I used to love those books.  Another one that she might like is the junior baby sitters club series.  and when she gets older, she can read the baby sitters club.  Nancy Drew, or the Boxcar Children (I think thats the right name..)

maybe goosebumps, or left behind juniors, or books by one particular author.  Like Judy Blume (are you there God, its me Margararet).

  2. well here are some suggestions for that age:

A-Z mysteries       by Ron Roy   [series]

Boxcar Children   by Gertrude Warner    [series]

Magic Tree House    by Mary  Pope Osborne  [series]

American Girl       by  Valerie Tripp    [series]

Judy Moody books  by Megan McDonald  [series]

Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great   by Judy Blume

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing  by Judy Blume

Katie Kazoo Switcheroo  by Nancy Krulik  [series]

Amber Brown books       by Paula Danziger   [series]

    Goosebumps   by RL Stein

These are just a few suggestions.....you could go to your local library or bookstore for more!

    -hope I helped!!

  3. I used to work as an elementary school literacy volunteer, and I worked at Borders for a holiday season.

As long as there is no inappropriate content, there really is no real harm in letting a child read a book somewhat above their reading level...that's how they grow as a reader. In my opinion, the most important thing is that kids become excited about reading. Maybe also get her a small dictionary to look up any words she doesn't understand.

I would say to bring your daughter to the bookstore or library, independent reader section, and ask her to pick out a couple books.

I know Judy Moody is a pretty fun read.

    Have fun!

  4. The Magic Treehous series... or the classic  Boxcar Children series..

  5. Cam Jansen

  6. Amelia Bedelia, Eloise are great for girls that age.

Magic tree house and Boxcar children are for kids a little older (3rd grade)

  7. Amber Brown, Cam Jansen Mysteries

  8. Try the new Nancy Drew books by Carolyn Keene (these aren't the ones from when we were kids...).  I believe there are 12 books in the series called "Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew."  My daughter loves these.  You can read the reviews on amazon.

  9. I haven't really read this series in a while, but Amber Brown?
