Question:

My daughter loves to sleep on the floor?

My 3 year old loves to sleep on the floor. She has a toddler bed, but she prefers to sleep next to it. We put soft blankets on the carpet so it will be a little more comfortable for her. Her doctor said it's not bad for her, but I worry that she'll never sleep in a bed again! Is this something they grow out of? Every time I try to put her in her bed after she falls asleep I find her on the floor in the morning. We can't afford a twin bed right now, or I'd try a bigger bed.

  1. I'm sure she'll grow out of it. Maybe she's falling? Ask her, if she is, just buy those railing things x]

  2. my daughter does the same thing. she is 2 1/2. my son did it too he is 12 now. she will grow out of it. to be honest with you, i slept in what my family called a "nest" on my floor until i met my husband and he talked me into getting a bed.  :) i did sleep in a bed growing up though. i started my "nest in my early twenties.  don't worry about it....and if you need a bigger bed, try freecycle.com you might find on there for free.  good luck with your little nester.

  3. I'm fifteen, and i can remember when I would sleep on my floor when i was about 3ish. My mom thought that there was something wrong with me. But about 3 months later i eventually started to sleep in my bed.

and if your daughter is really short maybe becasue shes so close to the ground all of the time, thats just where she feels confortable, maybe shes not use to the height of the bed yet.

  4. She'll grow out of  it.  I did that as a child, in fact, I went through a stage where I slept only on the floor, then I would only sleep on cushions on the floor, and would even sneak into the bathtub to sleep on the cold ceramic.  I was very young, and my parents thought it was funny, but they knew I'd grow out of it and I did.  So make her as comfy as possible, and maybe put a new comforter on the bed or something fun on it so she wants to try and sleep there.  Another reason is that she may be getting to warm in her bed and perfers the cooler air that usually runs along the floor.  See if she sleeps better in her bed when a fan is blowing in the room or something.

  5. dont wory about- my son is four and he went through the same thing. he just felt more comfortable on the floor i guess. now he's back on the bed and normal as.

i think it would be better to just leave her as she is and let her grow out of it in her own time. just do the same thing you've been doing and make sure the floor is padded nicely. dont worry aabout raised eyebrows or her not getting into bed again, more often than not we tend to forget that kids are just kids and that they go through so many different stages before they find themselves. im sure your little angel will bunk up and bed down when she's ready.

  6. Yes she will grow out of it. My oldest daughter slept with me until she was 8. She is now 14 and sleeps in her own bed :-)

  7. her actuall bed must be pretty uncomfortable if she prefers the floor. dayum girl
