  1. OK

    - how old?

    - is she a "girly girl"

    - do you want pink?

    - does she want pink?!

    - hint of blue is really relaxing, or hint of purple is a nice colour as well.

    - Don't go for dark walls in a small room or it will look even smaller!

    - leave the ceiling white.

    - Better to go for the lightest possible hint of a colour and then dress it up with accessories / wall stencils / art. This means that the room will be able to grow up with her and you won't have to repaint often!

    - Good storage is essential.

    - desk? computer? homework?

    - bookshelves?

    - one of those beds with the steps up to the bed on the top and the desk underneath? You can also get ones of those that have a comfy chair / single futon built in underneath for reading books on / sleepovers with friends.

    - tall bookshelves (that are fixed to the wall) and a step stool so she can get at the top books

    - space to store hobbies / musical instruments etc.

Rough it out on squared paper TO SCALE first before you start. Get some paint tester pots and paint them on to sheets of paper and stick them to the walls to see if she likes the colours. Remember that they will look darker when they are on the WHOLE wall!

    Enjoy!
