I am concerned about snuffles. I am contacting the vet first thing in the am. Any advice for the visit to the vet to eliminate unnecessary costs, and any hope for cure?

  1. A rabbit that young should have never been adopted out.  They shouldn't leave their mom before eight weeks at the earliest.  It is smart of you to contact a vet.  You don't want to put off getting him care.  Small animals get sick and lose weight very quickly.  Another option is just return the bunny because he is sick.

  2. take it to the vet while your daughter is at school(so she's not worried about it) and tell the vet everything!

  3. i work at a vet hospital. sounds like some sort of upper respiratory infection, quite common in fuzzy little creatures and even cats and dogs. antibiotics will be needed, and snuffles should be okay. however, if you don't treat it, uri's can weaken the immune system permanently and eventually cause death. so get her seen with a vet who specializes in exotics.  best of luck! :-)
